The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a gentle, affectionate, and people-oriented breed that thrives on companionship. Originally bred as lapdogs for British royalty, they still enjoy staying close to their humans and make excellent pets for first-time dog parents. Cavaliers are prone to certain health issues like heart disease (mitral valve disease), ear infections due to their long ears, and weight gain if overfed. Regular exercise, a proportional diet, and routine vet check-ups help keep them healthy and happy.
